Gathering Lines in the Appalachian Region
A number of companies, such as MarkWest Energy, anticipate a busy year. Others shared that the gathering lines in the Appalachian region is not doing much this year as they wait for prices to go up to allow additional drilling to take place.
Plant/Facilities Work-Shortage of Resources
Another company who is connecting with BP and Chevron are busy with client work coming up. They plan to be busy for the next two years. In regards to pipeline work, they feel that there is twice as much work out there that exceeds their capacity to hit this April. It appears that the southern states will display the need first with the northern Appalachian region following in the Summer.
Big Transmission Projects
A $4 billion project from West Virginia through to Michigan is anticipated for this Spring. At this point in time, the permit is delayed to October. Attempts will be made to complete by mid 2017. They are still committed to the project with 98% on ground in Ohio as they await the permit.
